　　After activation, the Dynamic Air Valves continue to allow water (not just air) to flow out after all air is vented. The valve is gradually closed to reduce water column velocity in a highly controlled manner eliminating the air slam pressures.

　　水槌係指管路內流動的液體遭到阻檔、方向改變或管內的流體受到壓縮，造成壓力上升，此上升的壓力形成壓力波，與水流相反方向回到系統源頭再反彈回至閥栓處，此種管內流體運動狀態急速變化而產生之異常壓力現象。
　　逢甲大學土木及水利工程研究所陳安國在建築物抽水系統之設計、調查與評估中，對於水槌的防止提出下列三種方式，而目前SURGE能進行的水槌防止措施定量分析的方式超過30種。
